B.C.’s Look West plan to strengthen economic security in the face of threats

The Province is expanding and strengthening the role of BC Timber Sales (BCTS), to ensure B.C.’s forests continue to support good forestry jobs and healthy resilient forests for future generations.

A new, artificial intelligence-guided point-of-care ultrasound imaging platform is under development at the University of British Columbia (UBC) as one of 18 new research projects funded by the B.C. Knowledge Development Fund (BCKDF) to improve the lives of British Columbians.

Twelve B.C.-based non-profit organizations will receive provincial grants for as much as $40,000 each to support community-based projects that advance accessibility and inclusion in B.C.

Eligible accommodation providers and tourism operators holding tenure and BC Parks permits will now have access to grants to alleviate fixed-cost pressures caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Province is providing more than 5,000 youth and young adults across British Columbia with access to skills training and well-paid jobs through the almost $45-million StrongerBC Future Leaders Program.
