Families and children in Vancouver are benefiting from more licensed child care spaces, providing more options in the downtown core.

Premier David Eby has issued the following statement marking the Provincial Day of Remembrance and Mourning for the Victims of the Tragedy at the Lapu Lapu Day Festival:

In response to the economic and trade uncertainty faced by people and businesses across British Columbia, the Province is taking action to provide stability in BC Hydro’s electricity rates during these unpredictable times, while keeping rate increases below cumulative inflation.

As many as 250 people with addictions challenges in B.C. will have more options to help them move toward recovery with newly opened substance-use treatment beds in their communities.

Cabinet ministers are being directed to focus on growing B.C.’s economy and protecting vital public services in the face of unprecedented threats from beyond Canada’s borders, including United States president-elect Donald Trump’s proposed tariffs.  

As 337 more affordable rental homes open in Vancouver, new reports are showing positive signs for renters in B.C., including thousands of renters supported through the BC Rent Bank, decreases in rents and record-high rental-home construction starts.
