Premier John Horgan has made changes to cabinet that reflect government’s commitment to a strong, sustainable and innovative economy that benefits people and communities throughout British Columbia.
To meet the demand for early childhood educators (ECE) in British Columbia, the Province is reallocating $4 million within the Canada-BC Early Learning and Child Care (ELCC) Agreement to provide additional bursaries through the ECE Education Support Fund.
Nominations are open for the third annual Premier’s Awards for Excellence in Education, a chance to recognize the British Columbian teachers, administrators and support workers who are making a positive impact on students and their school communities.
The provincial government is providing $875,000 to 11 Interior communities to help with delivery of transition services and supports to B.C. mill workers and their families who have been affected by permanent or indefinite mill closures or shift reductions.
The new, state-of-the-art Stuart Lake Hospital that will provide better health care and create more jobs for people is ready for construction, following the Province’s approval of the project business plan.
Scott Fraser, Minister of Indigenous Relations and Reconciliation; Regional Chief Terry Teegee, BC Assembly of First Nations; Cheryl Casimer, First Nations Summit; Grand Chief Stewart Phillip, Union of BC Indian Chiefs; and Adam Olsen, MLA for Saanich North and the Islands and member of Tsartlip First Nation, have issued the following statement:
