Finance Minister Michael de Jong is inviting B.C. residents to participate in telephone town halls throughout the province as part of the Minister's Budget Conversation Tour in advance of Balanced Budget 2014.

Monday night's telephone town hall is the third of a series that will give British Columbians the opportunity to discuss their priorities for Balanced Budget 2014 and ask the Finance Minister questions.

The telephone town hall will randomly dial approximately 65,000 numbers in Northern and Coastal BC in the following postal code areas: V0J, V0L, V0N, V0P, V0T, V0V, V8A, V8C, V8G, V8J.

When:
Monday, Nov. 18, 2013
7 p.m. - 8 p.m.

How do you participate?

If you have a publicly listed telephone number, you could receive a call at home in the early evening of the day when your regional telephone town hall is being held. A recorded message will ask if you are interested in attending the tele-town hall. If you would like to participate, stay on the line and follow the instructions given in the message.

If you do not want to participate, just hang up.

If you stay on the call, there may be a short wait until the call formally begins, or you will be placed into the town hall if it is already underway. At various times, the moderator will provide instructions on how to participate and explain how you can ask a question.

Media interested in listening to the telephone town hall can contact Ministry of Finance Communications at 250 356-2821 in advance to obtain details on how to dial in.
