The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man who died following an explosion and house fire in Salmon Arm on July 5, 2013.
He was David Allen Kingsbury, aged 45. Mr. Kingsbury was originally from the Lower Mainland, but most recently had been staying in Salmon Arm.
At about 8:30 p.m. on July 4, fire crews were called to a report of a residential fire following an explosion at a home in the 400-block of 50th Street NW in Salmon Arm. Mr. Kingsbury was found at the scene of the fire, severely injured. He was transported to Shuswap Lake General Hospital, but died the next day.
The BC Coroners Service, RCMP, the BC Safety Authority and WorkSafeBC continue to investigate this incident.
Mr. Kingsbury's family has been notified of his death. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
