The Prince George Fire Centre has issued an area restriction for the forested area around the Tenakihi-Mesilinka fire, effective at 2 p.m. Pacific Time on Friday, August 1, 2014.
This complex fire is located 170 kilometres northwest of Mackenzie on the west side of Williston Lake. During the Order of Restricted Access, no one may remain in or enter the area designated as a restricted area by the order, unless the person:
- First receives written authorization from a Wildfire Management Branch official.
- Enters the area only in the course of travelling to and from his or her residence
This restriction applies from the 11-kilometre mark on the Thutade Forest Service Road north to the 26-kilometre marker. The restriction covers East Mainline beyond the 12-kilometre marker and West Mainline beyond the 5-kilometre marker.

The Tenakihi-Mesilinka fire currently covers 49,073 hectares and is about 30% contained with natural barriers. There are 60 firefighters, 18 support staff, six helicopters and five pieces of heavy equipment currently working on this fire.
