The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a male who died following an accident on a forest service road near Prince George on May 23, 2015.
He was Dave Bidal, aged 43, of Vanderhoof.
Mr. Bidal was driving a flatbed truck-trailer carrying some logging equipment to a work site along the Fort George Canyon Road about 11 a.m. on May 23 when his way was blocked by two fallen trees. During attempts to move the trees off the road, one of them struck Mr. Bidal.
He was rushed to the University Hospital of Northern BC in Prince George, but succumbed to his injuries a few hours later.
The BC Coroners Service, WorkSafeBC and the RCMP continue to investigate this death.
The family of Mr. Bidal has been notified of his death. On behalf of the family, the BC Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
