Twelve organizations have received grants of up to $40,000 from the B.C. government’s new Building Excellence Research and Education Grants Program.
The program, launched in January 2015, is distributing more than $380,000 in funding through the Homeowner Protection Office (HPO), a branch of BC Housing.
The grants program supports and encourages research and education that improves the quality of residential construction and enhances consumer protection for buyers of new homes in British Columbia.
Industry and consumer organizations, education providers and researchers have the opportunity to identify projects and apply for up to $40,000 in funding annually.
The following organizations are receiving funding for spring 2015:
- Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of BC
- Condominium Home Owners Association of BC
- British Columbia Institute of Technology
- Kwantlen Polytechnic University
- BC Construction Association
- RDH Building Engineering Limited
- BC Ready Mixed Concrete Association
- FPInnovations
- Building Officials’ Association of BC
- Morrison Hershfield Limited
- Concordia University
- Urban Development Institute
