The wildfire burning roughly five kilometres northwest of Nazko, B.C. is now 30 % contained thanks to the efforts of BC Wildfire Service crews and personnel.
Previously the fire was estimated to be 1,000 hectares in size, but today more accurate mapping has indicated the fire to be 300 hectares in size.
The BC Wildfire Service currently has 45 firefighting personnel on site working to contain the fire, with 20 more en route. Additionally, one helicopter, seven bulldozers and one water truck are on site.
Growth on the wildfire today was minimal. Weather conditions were favourable and winds were calm. If favourable conditions persist, the fire is expected to be fully contained at 300 hectares by Monday, April 11, 2016.
