The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man who died after a motor vehicle incident near Fruitvale on July 14, 2016.
He is Michael Joseph McIsaac, aged 26, of Fruitvale, a small community about 16 kilometres east of Trail.
Mr. McIsaac was driving his vehicle on Highway 3B just outside the town about 2 p.m. on July 14, 2016, when a flat-deck semi coming in the opposite direction lost its load of crushed cars on a curve. Some of the debris struck Mr. McIsaac’s vehicle, causing it to leave the roadway and roll. Mr. McIsaac was deceased at the scene.
The BC Coroners Service, RCMP Traffic Services and the Commercial Vehicle Safety and Enforcement branch (CVSE) continue to investigate this death.
Mr. McIsaac’s family has been notified of his death. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service requests that the media respect their privacy during this difficult time.
