The Central Okanagan School District is receiving a funding boost from the Province to expand schools in the fast-growing region.

Families in West Kelowna will have more than 165 more student spaces as part of the government’s plan to expand schools faster.

A new school addition is on track to deliver more student spaces as early as the next school year in the fast-growing Central Okanagan School District.

Families and children living in the Kelowna area now have access to child care at the Kelowna Airport YMCA Child Care centre, making pickup and dropoff easy for parents and caregivers working at the airport or living nearby.

A few hundred Kelowna families can now have their kids in child care conveniently located on school grounds, with more child care spaces opening in the coming months.

More parents in the Interior region will be able to pursue work, school and other opportunities while knowing their children are cared for as the Province invests in 240 new licensed child care spaces.

Students, families and school staff in Kelowna’s Wilden neighbourhood can look forward to a new elementary school now that a site has been purchased to meet growing demand in the community.
