A 10-classroom addition has opened at Sunnyside Elementary, giving more Surrey students expanded, modern and connected spaces to learn.   

Investments through ChildCareBC’s New Spaces Fund are helping create more than 290 new child care spaces for school-aged children, and enabling more families in Surrey to access licensed child care spaces on school grounds, with more to come.

More families in Surrey will save thousands of dollars per year as 61 local child care spaces convert to the $10-a-day program, helping familes get ahead and building high-quality, affordable and accessible child care as a core service in B.C.

Students and families will benefit as hundreds of new school spaces open in Surrey. 

Students and staff at two Surrey elementary schools have safer places to learn and work now that seismic upgrades have been completed at George Greenaway and Holly elementary schools, with several other school projects under construction.

More parents in Surrey will be able to pursue work, school and other opportunities while knowing their children are cared for as the Province invests in more than 530 new licensed child care spaces.

Thousands of students in Surrey are now enjoying the benefits of new and expanded schools in their neighbourhoods.

Students, families and staff at Surrey’s Morgan Elementary school will soon have room to grow as construction to add eight more classrooms is underway.

Government investments in Surrey for students and staff continue at a record pace, with the new Grandview Heights Secondary, expanded Sullivan Elementary and seismically upgraded Greenaway Elementary opening right in time for the start of the school year.

More Surrey students will soon be learning in safer and modern educational environments, as expansion projects are underway at White Rock Elementary school and École K.B. Woodward.
