The Province is taking action to eliminate exploitive practices and improve the quality of post-secondary education by strengthening quality standards and bringing in new safeguards for international students in B.C.

The Province is moving forward on three important actions to keep kids and young people safe from online threats, restrict cellphones in school and hold social media companies accountable.

Individuals, couples and families have started moving into 100 new affordable rental homes in Surrey. 

New funding for four food and beverage manufacturers will support local economies by creating new jobs, strengthening B.C.’s agrifood and agritech sectors, and promoting the development of made-in-B.C. products.

Young people in crisis will be better supported in hospital and when they return home through two new response teams that co-ordinate care for youth experiencing mental-health or substance-use crises in the Fraser Health region.

Supporting Punjab Milk Foods as it builds a new dairy-processing facility will increase production capacity, grow the made-in-B.C. brand Nanak Foods, and create and protect hundreds of jobs for people in Surrey.

In advance of legislation this fall, the Province is holding a fair credentials town hall with internationally trained professionals, key organizations and advocates to talk about progress made on international credential recognition in health care and the work being done to expand to all sectors of the economy.

People in Surrey are a significant step closer to better access to health care as the Province is breaking ground on a new second hospital in Surrey and new cancer centre.
