The Province is fulfilling a longstanding commitment to invest an additional $50 million toward a new home for the Vancouver Art Gallery to protect and support the expansion of a cultural and tourism icon in B.C.

FIFA has confirmed that Vancouver has been chosen as an official host city for the FIFA World Cup 2026.

More artists and arts and culture organizations throughout the province will benefit from changes to the way the BC Arts Council provides funding to support calls to action for reconciliation, diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility.

The historic Wing Sang Building, the oldest building in Vancouver Chinatown, will be the permanent site of the Chinese Canadian Museum.

People throughout B.C. will be able to enjoy more arts, culture, sports and community occasions as the Province supports more than 680 events.

The award-winning Indigenous Sport Gallery at the B.C. Sports Hall of Fame will soon be available online, bringing the exciting stories and powerful history of Indigenous athletes, coaches and builders to communities and classrooms throughout the province.

Indigenous tourism businesses will receive another financial boost to aid in pandemic recovery and foster growth through the continued partnership of the Province and Indigenous Tourism BC.

The Province will begin accepting applications on Friday, Aug. 27, 2021, to support B.C.-based events through the new Fairs, Festivals and Events Recovery Fund.

Throughout the province, 140 Indigenous tourism businesses have received grants to mitigate the impacts of the pandemic.

Eleven new destination and tourism infrastructure developments are underway in the Vancouver, Coast & Mountains tourism region with support from the Province.
