Adrian Dix, Minister of Health, has issued the following statement in recognition of Paramedic Services Week, May 19-25, 2024:

People will be safer on B.C.’s roads with another round of support for 56 more communities that will further help prevent serious injuries and deaths.

Seniors in B.C. will be better supported to age safely at home thanks to the Province investing in home care and community-based services by recruiting and retaining more health-care workers, improving service delivery and expanding services for seniors.

The Province has appointed Dan Levitt as the new seniors advocate for British Columbia as government continues to support oversight and advocacy toward seniors care and the programs and services seniors need.

Local and Indigenous governments are encouraged to apply for Active Communities Grants to support projects and programs that increase access to physical activity throughout their communities.

People in communities throughout B.C. will benefit from additional investments toward safer roads through a second year of Vision Zero grants.

Beginning June 1, 2023, communities in British Columbia can apply for funding aimed at helping seniors lead independent, active lives.
