The Government of B.C. has selected 15 British Columbians to receive the Medal of Good Citizenship for their dedication and selfless service to their communities.

The Province has provided funding to approximately 100 organizations through its Tourism Events Program (TEP) to build B.C.’s reputation as an events destination and increase visitation.

The Province is highlighting several commitments to programs that make sporting activities more affordable for families and empower under-represented children and youth to jump back into sport and physical activities, regardless of family finances.

Government is providing $4 million in post-pandemic recovery funding to reignite the amateur sport sector by rebuilding sport membership and bolstering volunteerism.

New arts funding will increase access and remove barriers to funding for equity-deserving arts and cultural organizations to benefit more people in B.C.’s arts sector.

British Columbians are encouraged to nominate their fellow citizens who have made outstanding contributions through exceptional service to their communities for this year's Medal of Good Citizenship.

The Province is creating a new grant program to help children and youth during and after government care participate in sport, physical and cultural activities.
