Two B.C. companies are working to innovate in the hard-to-decarbonize heavy-duty trucking sector and create new jobs with support from the CleanBC Go Electric Advanced Research and Commercialization (ARC) program.

Bruce Ralston, Minister of Energy, Mines and Low Carbon Innovation, has released the following statement in response to the decision of Woodfibre LNG to issue notice to proceed with major construction in 2023:  

Two B.C. maritime design companies are developing zero-emission boat technology that will advance clean transportation in the hard-to-decarbonize marine sector and create new jobs for British Columbians.

Grin Technologies Ltd. is scaling up production of its unique electric bike components that will advance clean transportation technology and create new jobs with support from the CleanBC Go Electric Advanced Research and Commercialization (ARC) program.

B.C.’s Moment Energy is repurposing retired electric vehicle (EV) batteries to provide reliable and clean-energy storage to urban and remote, diesel-dependent communities and create new jobs with support from the CleanBC Go Electric Advanced Research and Commercialization (ARC) program.

British Columbians are embracing zero-emission vehicles (ZEVs) faster than any other jurisdiction in North America, with ZEVs representing 13% of all new light-duty vehicle sales in B.C. last year, according to the province’s 2021 Zero-Emission Vehicle Update.

B.C.’s Climate Solutions Council, which provides independent advice to government on climate programs, actions and accountability, has been renewed with the appointment of six new members.
