British Columbia's provincial parks now have more places to sit and enjoy an amazing view - each with their own special stories and wonderful memories. The 100 for 100 Park Bench Challenge launched in 2011 to help celebrate the 100th anniversary of British Columbia's provincial parks system was so successful that all 100 benches are sold.

The August long weekend is a peak time for camping, and reservation numbers have hit a record high. As of July 29, B.C. Parks had received 91,989 reservations this calendar year - up 11 per cent from last year.

BC Parks is accepting applications for its innovative youth leadership program Get Outside BC. Piloted in 2011, Get Outside BC was the first of its kind in Canada. Forty youth aged 14-18 from across the province will be selected to participate in this year's summer program.
