Mike Farnworth, Minister of Public Safety and Solicitor General, has released the following statement about BC Corrections ending its arrangement with the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) on the management of individuals held under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act:

Students in B.C. will now have new possibilities to earn credits for First Nations language and culture programs through the expansion of the External Credentials Program (ECP).

More than 40 community organizations, rightsholders and Indigenous partners, education partners and students participated in the third Minister’s Community Roundtable on Anti-Racism in Education.

People from diverse backgrounds with a passion to help build a better, more equitable province are encouraged to apply to be part of B.C.’s first anti-racism data committee.

A community roundtable will bring together nearly 40 community organizations, rightsholders and education partners to address racism in education and help shape the provincial K-12 Anti-Racism in Education Action Plan.
