The B.C. government is providing support in four strategic areas to help B.C.’s tree-fruit industry continue to provide locally produced fruit to British Columbians while supporting the economy in the Okanagan.

Consumers will more easily identify local B.C. products when shopping at their local Save-On-Foods store with the Buy BC branding featured at the retailer’s 125 locations throughout the province.

B.C. companies continue to develop and adopt agritech to create new products and farming processes that will help farmers mitigate the impacts of climate change and boost the province’s food security and food economy.  

To help combat the effects of climate change on B.C.’s long-term food security, new funding is helping farmers and ranchers protect their operations by adopting regenerative agriculture practices, improving farms’ drought resilience and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

Thousands of students, faculty and staff in 20 of B.C.’s public post-secondary institutions are enjoying more local food on their campuses through the Province’s Feed BC initiative.
