Rob Fleming, Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure, has issued the following statement on the suspension of a trucking company’s ability to operate in B.C. following a collision with an overpass on Dec. 28, 2023:

New rules to enhance safety for workers doing asbestos removal, transportation and disposal will come into effect on Jan. 1, 2024.

To ensure the safety of drivers, Highway 4 at Cameron Lake Bluff will be closed until later in the afternoon on Tuesday, Dec. 26 while crews clean up a large rockfall that brought several trees down onto Highway 4.

The Salmon River Bridge on the 10th Avenue S.W. frontage road will be closed for rehabilitation work from early January until March 31, 2024.

Three shortlisted teams have been invited by the Province to participate in a request for proposals to design and build a new 264th Street Interchange, a key component of improvements to Highway 1 between 264th Street and Mt. Lehman Road.

Travellers passing through Cache Creek will soon have a safer, more reliable journey, with work about to begin on the Cache Creek Crossing Restoration Project. 

Drivers are reminded of lane closures this weekend on the Stanley Park Causeway.
