Families, seniors and people with disabilities in Vernon will soon have access to additional rental homes they can afford as construction begins on a 13-unit housing project in partnership with the Okanagan Village Housing Society.

People in the Fraser Health region and throughout British Columbia living with substance-use challenges will benefit from the rapid implementation of new and expanded services.

Sheila Malcolmson, Minister of Mental Health and Addictions, has released the following statement regarding the BC Coroners Service’s report on illicit drug toxicity deaths for August and September 2021:

Reporting released by the BC Coroners Service shows that 333 lives were lost to suspected illicit drug toxicity in August and September 2021, raising the total number of British Columbians lost this year to 1,534.

Residents are moving into Cedar Place, a new 38-unit supportive housing building for people experiencing or at risk of homelessness in Salmon Arm.
