Students and staff are invited to team up with the Ministry of Education and the BC Lions Football Club to celebrate diversity and be part of the solution to end racism in schools.

Government is updating its K-12 education health and safety guidelines to require masks for kindergarten to Grade 3 students. 

More than 14,000 B.C. students will soon have access to new, safe and accessible playgrounds as the Province doubles its annual investment in the Playground Equipment Program (PEP). 

Right in time for the new school year, more than 8,600 students will be returning to safer and modernized classrooms at 16 new or improved schools throughout the province.

B.C. students will return to school next month and can look forward to full-time, in-person learning and resuming sports, music and other extracurricular activities, while mask requirements and other health and safety measures remain in place to keep schools safe.

Starting Sept. 1, 2021, children 12 and under will be able to “Get on Board” any BC Transit or TransLink service for free as part of the provincial government’s commitment to efficient, reliable and affordable transit for families.

Students, families, teachers and staff should plan for a near-normal return to school in September.
