Katrine Conroy, Minister Responsible for the Columbia River Treaty, has issued the following statement regarding the 13th round of negotiations to modernize the Columbia River Treaty, which took place in Richmond on Aug. 10-11, 2022:

The 13th round of negotiations to modernize the Columbia River Treaty will take place Aug. 10-11, 2022, with representatives of Canada and the United States meeting in Richmond.

The Province is improving accessibility to electric vehicles (EVs) by increasing maximum rebate amounts and ensuring they are going to people who need them most.

The Province has awarded a second geothermal permit to Fort Nelson First Nation to advance development of the Tu Deh-Kah Geothermal project at Clarke Lake.

The Province of British Columbia, BC Hydro, Canada and West Moberly First Nations have negotiated a settlement related to the Site C project.

As a result of the Province’s CleanBC Go Electric programs and rebates, the number of electric vehicles (EV) on B.C.’s roads has increased by 1,600% in the past six years.

Two B.C. companies are advancing hydrogen-fuelling technology and creating new jobs with support from the CleanBC Go Electric Advanced Research and Commercialization (ARC) program.
