Dr. Bonnie Henry, B.C.’s provincial health officer, has released the following statement on the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women:

Public-health officials are asking all British Columbians to get their influenza and COVID-19 immunizations as soon as possible, as rates of respiratory illnesses are on the rise throughout the province.

The Province’s efforts to make it free and easier for people to get the best protection possible against influenza and COVID-19 are paying off.

In order to protect the province’s most vulnerable and the overall health-care system, COVID-19 vaccination requirements for health-care system workers continue to be in place.

People will soon be able to get better protection against COVID-19, as the Province rolls out the new combination bivalent vaccine through its fall booster program.
