People travelling through the Shawnigan Lake area can soon look forward to smoother travel as paving and road improvements start on Monday, Aug. 19, 2024.  

A 400-metre section of Quesnel-Hixon Road is being permanently closed, and the Cottonwood River Canyon Bridge is being taken out of service.

Drivers are advised the southbound slow lane of Highway 99 through the George Massey Tunnel will be closed overnight for five nights starting Monday, Aug. 12, 2024.

Drivers are advised Highway 99 traffic will be reduced to a minimum of one lane in each direction overnight starting Monday, Aug. 12, 2024, at the Steveston Interchange.

Repairs to Highway 8 will begin soon to permanently restore the section approximately 15 kilometres east of Spences Bridge that was damaged by floods in 2021, and to enhance the highway’s climate resilience.

Drivers are advised of an upcoming lane closure on Highway 7 between Murray and Stave Lake streets as construction continues to improve the commercial truck route through Mission.

Travellers are reminded that Highway 17 near Keating Cross Road will be closed in both directions again on Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2024.

Drivers are advised that Highway 99 northbound and southbound will be closed overnight starting late Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2024, at the Steveston Interchange to allow crews to safely move heavy machinery across the highway as part of the Steveston Interchange Project.
