New child care centres coming for Métis families

Starting on Oct. 1, 2024, applications will be accepted from child care providers to join the $10 a Day ChildCareBC program, which will create more low-cost child care options for families throughout B.C.
Funding for a new secondary and middle school, on top of a recently completed school addition, will provide approximately 3,000 student spaces for families in the growing Langley community.
Students and families of Queen Elizabeth Elementary will benefit from more classrooms with an addition now under construction.
Ten communities will soon have more student spaces as part of the government’s actions to expand schools quicker.
Following discussions with the board of education and local police departments, the Minister of Education and Child Care has issued an administrative directive for an updated student safety plan in School District No. 61 (Greater Victoria).
