Independent media artists can now apply for project grants from the BC Arts Council.
Project assistance up to $25,000 are available to independent media artists to support the creation of new works in the areas of film, video, audio/sound art and new media, including new information and communications technologies used for artistic expression.
Applications may be made by individuals or a collaboration of two more artists. The deadline for applications is June 2, 2014.
The BC Arts Council is the Government of British Columbia’s lead agency for arts funding and development. The council enlists artists to evaluate grant applications through a peer review process independent of government.
The Government of British Columbia is providing $24 million to the BC Arts Council this year. In total, $60 million is being invested in artists, arts organizations and cultural institutions in 2014-15.
