The public is invited to attend a drop-in information session on Thursday, Feb. 25, 2016, to discuss plans to pave Tuck Inlet Road, which provides access to the community of Lax Kw'alaams near Prince Rupert.
The existing gravel surface on Tuck Inlet Road will be paved and safety improvements such as concrete barriers, speed reader boards and pullouts will be made throughout the 17.5-kilometre road. One bridge will also be replaced.
When complete, the resurfaced road will increase safety and accessibility on this critical link to the community of Lax Kw'alaams.
A Memo of Understanding (MOU) to begin engineering work on the project was signed with the Lax Kw'alaams last year, as part of the ministry’s B.C. on the Move 10-year transportation plan. Construction on the project is expected to begin this summer.
Staff from the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure will be at the open house to provide information and answer questions. If you are unable to attend, please send your comments or questions to the project manager, Catherine Deol, at: Catherine.Deol@gov.bc.ca
