The Government of British Columbia is providing $250,000 in Family Day funding to support free community-based family events during the BC Family Day weekend.
Municipal or regional district recreation departments and First Nations bands and councils are eligible to apply for a grant of up to $1,000 to help cover entrance fees, facility costs, equipment, staffing and/or refreshments for BC Family Day events taking place Feb. 9-12, 2018.
Grants will be administered through BC Recreation and Parks Association (BCRPA) and will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. Applications will be accepted until funding is fully committed, or until Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2018.
BC Family Day funding can be used to support a range of activities, such as skating, swimming, snowshoeing, face painting, dancing, live music and more.
