As of Thursday, March 17, 2022, 90.8% (4,524,095) of eligible people five and older in B.C. have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine and 86.9% (4,330,237) have received their second dose.
In addition, 93.4% (4,328,709) of eligible people 12 and older in B.C. have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine, 90.9% (4,214,928) received their second dose and 56.8% (2,633,652) have received a third dose.
Also, 93.7% (4,053,919) of all eligible adults in B.C. have received their first dose, 91.3% (3,951,069) received their second dose and 58.7% (2,537,194) have received a third dose.
B.C. is reporting 240 new cases of COVID-19, for a total of 353,379 cases in the province.
The new cases include:
- Fraser Health: 47
- Vancouver Coastal Health: 52
- Interior Health: 66
- Northern Health: 34
- Island Health: 41
- People who reside outside of Canada: zero
There are 298 individuals hospitalized with COVID-19 and 49 are in intensive care.
In the past 24 hours, seven new deaths have been reported, for an overall total of 2,960.
The new deaths include:
- Fraser Health: three
- Vancouver Coastal Health: one
- Northern Health: two
- Island Health: one
There have been no new health-care facility outbreaks. The outbreak at Greenwoods (Island Health) has been declared over, for a total of eight facilities with ongoing outbreaks, including:
- long-term care:
- Ponderosa, Hillside Village (Interior Health)
- Sidney Care Home, Berwick House Gordon Head, The Heights at Mt. View, Luther Court and Yucalta Lodge (Island Health)
- acute care:
- Surrey Memorial Hospital (Fraser Health)
- assisted or independent living:
- none
From March 9-15, people not fully vaccinated accounted for 16.5% of cases. From March 2-15, they accounted for 27.6% of hospitalizations.

- Partially vaccinated: 37 (2.2%)
- Fully vaccinated: 1,387 (83.5%)
Past two weeks cases hospitalized (March 2-15) - Total 431
- Not vaccinated: 103 (23.9%)
- Partially vaccinated: 16 (3.7%)
- Fully vaccinated: 312 (72.4%)
Past week, cases per 100,000 population after adjusting for age (March 9-15)
- Not vaccinated: 63.0
- Partially vaccinated: 20.4
- Fully vaccinated: 29.8
Past two weeks, cases hospitalized per 100,000 population after adjusting for age (March 2-15)

- Partially vaccinated: 15.0
- Fully vaccinated: 6.6
Since December 2020, the Province has administered 11,429,442 doses of Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, AstraZeneca and Pfizer Pediatric COVID-19 vaccines.
