Funding sources for Drennan Street housing project
  • The Province, through BC Housing, provided approximately $22.2 million for this project.
  • The federal government, through the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation, provided $6.9 million through the Affordable Housing Fund.
  • M’akola Housing Society provided $1.5 million in equity.
  • The Capital Regional District provided a grant of $765,000 through the Regional Housing Trust Fund.
  • The Affordable Housing Fund, previously the National Housing Co-Investment Fund, is part of Canada’s National Housing Strategy (NHS).
  • NHS is an $82-billion plan to give more Canadians a place to call home.
  • As of Sept. 30, 2023, the Government of Canada had committed more than $38.9 billion for the creation of 151,803 homes and repair of more than 241,000 homes.
