More people in Kamloops will have access to 165 new rental homes with the opening of The Confluence and construction is underway on another development in the community.
It is part of nearly 2,350 homes in Kamloops and Tk’emlúps te Secwepemc.
“People need access to more homes that fit their needs and budgets,” said Christine Boyle, Minister of Housing and Municipal Affairs. “These new homes in Kamloops give residents more choices so they can stay in the community they’ve built their lives in. Expanded housing options in Kamloops are a result of strong partnerships that will support the diverse and growing needs of people in the community.”
Opening of The Confluence
The Confluence at 346 Campbell Ave. brings 80 affordable rental homes to Kamloops residents. Delivered through the Community Housing Fund program, it offers a range of rental rates to support seniors, families and individuals with low to moderate incomes.
Responding to the need for larger, family-oriented rental housing, 75% of the homes have two or three bedrooms suitable for growing families. The Confluence will be owned and operated by ASK Wellness Society, an experienced housing operator in the B.C. Interior.
This six-storey building is located on the North Shore, close to transit, a medical centre and other services. The Overlander Bridge is also nearby, providing easy access to the downtown business district and additional community amenities.
People will be moving into their new homes in June 2026.
More housing on the way
In addition to the new homes, construction is also underway on an 85-home development at 377 Tranquille Rd. through BC Builds. Once complete, it will provide a mix of studio to three-bedroom homes that will meet various household needs. The homes will be owned and operated by the City of Kamloops’ newly formed Kamloops Community Land Trust Foundation. More information will be available as the building nears completion, estimated for late 2027.

The projects are part of a $19-billion housing investment by the B.C. government. Since 2017, the Province has more than 95,000 homes that have been delivered or are underway, including nearly 2,350 homes in Kamloops and Tk’emlúps te Secwepemc.
