Nighttime closures are planned this weekend on the Coquitlam River Bridge upgrade project, on Saturday, Jan. 24, 2026.
Drivers travelling on Highway 7B are advised to expect delays.
Nighttime lane closures will temporarily close the passing lanes in both directions, leaving one travel lane in each direction at all times, while the Ministry of Transportation and Transit’s contractor performs resurfacing work.
One westbound lane on the bridge will be closed from 8 p.m. on Saturday until 9 a.m. on Sunday. One eastbound lane will be closed from 11 p.m. on Saturday until 9 a.m. on Sunday.
While the lanes on the bridge will remain reduced in width to support construction, general commercial traffic (three metres wide or less) can continue to use the bridge. Oversized loads will require special permits to cross.
Drivers are reminded the speed limit through the construction zone is 40 km/h in each direction, at all times, until the project is complete. Drivers should continue to plan additional travel time through the route.
Travellers are reminded to obey signs.
