A family of privately sponsored Syrian refugees rolled up their sleeves to be immunized by a B.C. pharmacist, while Health Minister Terry Lake provided a little support.
The Alkarkhi family visited a Shoppers Drug Mart in Surrey to access this important health care service.
“B.C. has long been a welcoming place for immigrants and refugees, and we’re working hard to ensure newcomers have access to the health care they need to start healthy lives here in Canada,” said Health Minister Terry Lake. For more information on B.C. pharmacists stepping up to deliver immunizations to Syrian newcomers, visit: http://www.bcpharmacy.ca/files/news/1454102148.pdf
