Josie Osborne, Minister of Energy, Mines and Low Carbon Innovation, has released the following statement on the Haisla Nation’s positive financial investment decision for Cedar LNG:

The Province of British Columbia, Teck Resources Limited (Teck) and the Taku River Tlingit First Nation (TRTFN) are taking a collaborative approach to jointly advance remediation of the former Tulsequah Chief Mine site.

Beginning on Monday, April 1, 2024, people in B.C. will start saving on their energy bills with the B.C. Electricity Affordability Credit that will provide the average BC Hydro residential customer with savings of $100.

The Province will implement a backstop to the federal cap on emissions from the oil and gas sector to support a clean-energy future for British Columbians.
