Government  is building a new plant and animal health centre to keep people safe by stopping diseases such as avian flu before they spread, protecting British Columbia’s food, farmers, animals and communities.

People living with substance-use challenges will soon benefit from expanded access to community-based recovery supports with the opening of Abbotsford Junction and Hope Junction, two new recovery community centres in the Fraser Valley.

People experiencing or at risk of homelessness in Abbotsford will have access to more shelter spaces, with 22 new spaces open and 45 spaces opening over the coming months.  

An expansion to Abbotsford Middle school will bring 200 more student spaces to the growing district as part of the government’s plan to expand schools quicker.

Final repairs to the flood-damaged section of Highway 11 at Willband Creek in Abbotsford will begin on Monday, April 29, 2024, and drivers are advised that traffic pattern changes will be in place throughout the project.
