Students in the Abbotsford School District will benefit from almost $2.5 million in provincial funding for school upgrade projects, classroom supplies and new school buses, MLA Simon Gibson announced on behalf of Education Minister Mike Bernier.

Students in the Abbotsford School District are connecting with skills and technology training development thanks to a $17,500 grant to the district from the Province’s Shoulder Tappers Program.

Students, teachers and staff at 18 schools in the Abbotsford school district will benefit from $840,000 in provincial School Enhancement Program funding.  

The $9.8-million seismic upgrade project at Yale Secondary is now complete, ensuring students, teachers and staff have a safe place to learn and teach for years to come.

Families in the Abbotsford school district will no longer pay fees for students riding school buses within their schools’ catchment area thanks to $253,969 in funding under the new provincial Student Transportation Fund.

After two years of dedicated consultation and dialogue, the Abbotsford school district signed their second Aboriginal Education Enhancement Agreement.
