B.C.’s top trades and technology students put their skills on display Wednesday, April 5, in a series of Olympic-style competitions to determine who will make up Team BC at the national finals later this spring.

Skilled trades students in the Abbotsford School District will benefit from a three-year, $15-million investment by the B.C. government to support youth trades programs with the purchase of new trades training equipment.

The B.C. government is providing $73,500 to two organizations to help manage invasive plants in the Fraser Valley.

Abbotsford is receiving federal-provincial investment in critical clean water and wastewater infrastructure, announced MLA Simon Gibson of Abbotsford-Mission, MLA Darryl Plecas of Abbotsford South, and MLA Michael de Jong of Abbotsford West on behalf of Minister of Community, Sport and Cultural Development Peter Fassbender.

The Province and City of Abbotsford are moving forward with the development of a new Abbotsford courthouse that will create new jobs, increase access to justice and build a brighter future for British Columbia.

As of Jan. 16, 2017, British Columbians looking to purchase their first home can apply to the B.C. Home Owner Mortgage and Equity Partnership program, which helps first-time homebuyers create secure and stable futures for their families through home ownership.
