More than 850 households in 11 rural, remote and Indigenous communities between Yale and Ruby Creek in the Fraser Valley have access to reliable, high-speed broadband internet services.

New rural development grants will help organizations in the Agassiz-Harrison area upgrade a meeting and retreat centre, and create more tourism opportunities and jobs.

Motorists are advised Highway 7 west of Agassiz has a single lane open to emergency vehicles only.

The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure advises that single-lane alternating traffic will begin on Hemlock Valley Road at 8 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 7, 2020.

The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure advises that Hemlock Valley Road is closed in both directions due to a mudslide and washout that occurred last night after heavy rainfall (120mm to 140mm). There is no detour at this time.

Drivers are advised that the Agassiz-Rosedale Bridge on Highway 9 will require two full closures of 20 minutes each during the night of Wednesday, April 10, 2019, for seismic and safety upgrade work.
