More parents in Burnaby and New Westminster will be able to return to work, go back to school or pursue other opportunities as the Province invests in more than 350 new licensed child care spaces, 150 of which will be available by the fall.

For many British Columbians, daily life has changed significantly because of COVID-19.

Even more B.C. parents will have access to child care as the Province marks the latest milestone in its popular Childcare BC plan with funding for more than 13,000 new spaces since July 2018.

Burnaby will benefit from three new child care centres, giving parents access to a total of 124 new licensed child care spaces.

British Columbia families and their children will soon benefit from the latest methods in early years teaching and learning, such as using play-based learning to help children build speech and language skills.

British Columbia families now have access to 426 new licensed in-home child care spaces that have been created through the Province’s new Childcare BC Start-Up Grant Program.
