Families and children living in Homalco and the Campbell River area will soon benefit from 79 new child care spaces as construction of a child care centre gets underway.

Families in Campbell River are benefiting from a new child care centre with 30 new school-age child care spaces opening at Ripple Rock Elementary.

Students in the Campbell River School District are connecting with skills and technology training development thanks to a $17,500 grant to the district from the Province’s Shoulder Tappers Program.

Students at Cortes Elementary Junior Secondary school will soon have a seismically safe school, thanks to $2.3 million from the Province’s award-winning Seismic Mitigation Program.

Students, teachers and staff at Carihi Secondary school in the Campbell River school district will benefit from $280,000 in provincial School Enhancement Program funding.

Families in the Campbell River school district will benefit from improved transportation services, thanks to $316,860 in funding under the new provincial Student Transportation Fund.

As students return to class this September to advance their academic skills, École Phoenix Middle school will also be improving, as construction begins on a seismic upgrade. The upgrade is part of the government's Seismic Mitigation Program.
