Effective at noon Pacific Time on Monday, July 3, 2017, Category 2 open fires will be prohibited throughout the Southeast Fire Centre to help prevent human-caused wildfires and protect public safety.

BC Wildfire Service personnel have been responding to lightning-caused fires throughout the Arrow Fire Zone.

BC Wildfire Service personnel are currently responding to numerous lightning-caused fires throughout the Arrow Fire Zone and the Kootenay Lake Fire Zone. None of these fires is currently threatening any structures or communities.

The BC Wildfire Service is reminding the public that a Category 3 fire prohibition is in place throughout the Southeast Fire Centre’s jurisdiction. As weather conditions get drier and hotter, people are urged to use extreme caution while conducting any outdoor burning activities.

Effective at noon (Pacific Time) on Thursday, June 15, 2017, Category 3 open fires will be prohibited throughout the Southeast Fire Centre’s jurisdiction to help prevent human-caused wildfires and protect public safety.

BC Wildfire Service personnel will be conducting a prescribed burn in the Hooker Creek area (about nine kilometres east of Crawford Bay) during the month of June 2017.

BC Wildfire Service personnel will be conducting a prescribed for BC Timber Sales in the North Creek area (40 kilometres north of Kaslo) this week, weather and site conditions permitting.

BC Wildfire Service personnel will be conducting a prescribed burn in the Mt. Buchanan area (11 kilometres west of Kaslo) during the month of May 2017.

BC Wildfire Service personnel will be conducting a prescribed burn in the Hope Creek area (30 kilometres north of Meadow Creek) during the month of May, weather and site conditions permitting.
