Natural resource officers from the Ministry of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations visited a series of recreational spots in the Northeast region to help ensure that residents and visitors enjoyed a safe B.C. Day long weekend.

Many waterways in British Columbia's Peace Region are experiencing very low stream flow conditions, so the government is encouraging residents to conserve water and learn more about dealing with current drought conditions.

As the above-normal snowpack continues to melt and with a high streamflow advisory in effect, travellers are advised that several Forest Service roads (FSR) are closed due to washouts and care should be taken on others
