The Government of B.C. is resurfacing a section of Highway 2 between Dawson Creek and Pouce Coupe to improve the ride for area residents traveling between the two communities.

As part of the Province’s $10 million in one-time funding commitments to the BC Search and Rescue Association (BCSARA) to help bolster training, administrative support and equipment renewals, BCSARA teams in Peace River South will receive $85,500 in 2016.

The ministry is asking those planning to travel to the South Peace Region along Highway 97 to be aware of closures along this route due to flooding in the area and to check DriveBC.ca and TranBC.ca websites for up to date information.

A $3-million upgrade to Coleman Creek Road near Dawson Creek is underway and, when complete, will improve safety for families and industrial users in the region.

Two improvement projects on Highway 2 and Highway 97 in the Peace River area will improve safety for families, visitors and commercial traffic.

A new web camera on Highway 97 in Dawson Creek is now live on the Province's DriveBC website, providing real-time coverage of highway conditions in the area and helping motorists plan a safer, easier journey.
