People, property and businesses in and around Grand Forks will be further protected from floodwaters with the construction of a new dike and drainage system, the latest component of the city’s flood mitigation program.

Families at Play School Platoon in Grand Forks are now paying no more than $200 a month per child as part of the B.C. government’s universal child care prototype project.

Grand Forks and Osoyoos airports will receive $225,000 in combined funding from the B.C. Air Access Program.

The B.C. government is funding seven extreme weather shelter spaces in Grand Forks this winter to help people whose health and safety may be threatened by cold, wet weather.

Students, teachers and staff at Grand Forks Secondary school in the Boundary school district will benefit from $190,000 in provincial School Enhancement Program funding.          

The Government of B.C. has committed to replacing six transition house beds to ensure at-risk women and their children fleeing abuse will continue to have a safe and supportive place to live during difficult times.

Four people will be powering up some work experience building nine new campsites at the Bluejoint Creek provincial recreation site, thanks to nearly $153,000 in provincial Community and Employer Partnership funding for the Grand Forks ATV Club.
