The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure has completed work on the $7.7-million project to replace the Highway 3 (Crowsnest) Upper Cambie Bridge.

The B.C. government has distributed $17,948 in compensation for municipal property taxes to the District of Hope.

Students, teachers and staff at six schools in the Fraser – Cascade school district will benefit from $180,000 in provincial School Enhancement Program funding.

Under the BC Rural Dividend, the Province is providing a total of $358,332 to Shxw'owhamel First Nation, Yale First Nation, Boston Bar, Village of Harrison Hot Springs and the Hope & Area Transition Society, Chilliwack-Hope MLA Laurie Throness announced.

BC Wildfire Service crews will be conducting a series of controlled pile burns in the Harrison Lake / Hope area in October to remove logging debris and reduce the risk of wildfires.

The Wood Lake wildfire burning near Harrison Lake, 20 kilometres north of Harrison Hot Springs, now covers about 1,325 hectares and is 40% contained. No structure or communities are currently at risk.
