Permanent repairs to Coquihalla Highway 5 are complete after it was washed out during unprecedented flooding two years ago.

The Coquihalla (Highway 5) has reopened to four lanes following completion of temporary repairs at three bridge sites, a major milestone.

Permanent repairs to flood-damaged sections of Highway 1 through the Fraser Canyon will soon be underway, protecting the safe movement of people and goods along the corridor.

Permanent repairs to the Othello section of the Coquihalla Highway 5 will begin soon, helping rebuild the highway to a more resilient standard following significant damage from November’s storms.

The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure is moving forward on permanent repairs to the Coquihalla (Highway 5), marking another milestone in the province’s recovery following the significant flooding event in November 2021.
