Next week, the Government of B.C. will tender the contract to construct a vehicle pull-out on Highway 5A.

An agreement between the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure and the Sexqeltkemc te Secwepemc (STS) paves the way for construction to continue on the Highway 1 Monte Creek to Pritchard project.

Approximately 23 kilometres of Highway 5A will be resurfaced this summer to further increase safety and improve the ride along this corridor. The project will go to tender this week.

Safety has improved on Highway 5A between Kamloops and Merritt as a result of road safety improvements and increased enforcement.
