The Province is partnering with A Way Home Kamloops and a local developer on a proposal to deliver 39 new homes for youth and young adults experiencing homelessness in the community.

The Province, through BC Housing, has purchased the former Fortune Motel in Kamloops.

Vulnerable and low-income people in Kamloops will be better supported thanks to $25,000 in government funding for local poverty reduction strategies.

People in communities and First Nations in interior B.C. will benefit from new projects that will create local jobs, make housing more affordable and make community spaces and public buildings energy efficient and durable.

Seniors will soon have more affordable homes to choose from in Kamloops as construction gets underway on a 37-unit rental housing project in the community.

With the help of additional funding through the Province’s 10-year housing plan, 60 new affordable rental homes are under construction in Kamloops.

Delivering on its commitment to enhance access to justice for British Columbians, the Government of B.C. has provided a $250,000 grant to establish a new legal clinic at the Kamloops and District Elizabeth Fry Society.

Low- to middle-income people in Kamloops will benefit from 112 new affordable rental homes.
